The Partner Safety Check program is a voluntary, confidential and no-cost service for complainants in a domestic violence charge whose ex/partners are attending mandated family violence treatment as part of the Provincial Family Violence Treatment Program (PFVTP). 

enCompass provides services under Counselling Alberta in partnership with Calgary Counselling Centre. Client information may be shared to ensure high-quality service and evaluate program effectiveness.

 Key Services Provided

  • Safety planning / risk assessment
  • Psychosocial information and education on intimate partner violence
  • Information about legal options to manage safety
  • Emotional support
  • Navigation of resources including counselling and other mental health services, financial supports, outreach programs etc.
  • Information on practical supports available after experiencing an intimate partner violence situation post court
